 The Purpose of Procedure Text:
Procedure text’s purpose is to describe how something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps.

The Generic Structure of Procedure Text:
1.      Goal or title;
2.      Materials/Ingredients/Equipment, or the things we need to achieve the goal; and
3.      Steps/Method, oriented to achieving the goal.


Example of Procedure Text:

Bregedel Tempe

What you need:
150g tempe
2 tablespoons of fried shallots
3 lime leaves
1 tablespoon of flour
1 egg
1 cup of vegetable oil for frying

Spices:
3 large red chilies, seeds removed
3 small chilies
2 red shallots
2 cloves of garlic
½ teaspoon of coriander seeds
½ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of shrimp paste

What to do:
1.      Mash the tempe with a fork, or place it in a bowl of a food processor and blend it until it resembles coarse bread crumbs.
2.      Grind the spices in a mortar, or place them in the bowl of a food processor and blend them into a smooth paste.
3.      Put and smashed tempe in a bowl and mix it with the spice paste, fried shallots, and lime leaves. Stir i the fluor, followed by the egg.
4.      Shape the mixture in the size of a golf ball and flatten a little withb a fork.
5.      Heat the vegetable oil in the medium flame. When the oil is hot, fry the bregedel, five or six at a time.
6.      Fry the bregedel until golden brown on both sides, drain on absorbent paper, and serve hot with rice.
